Ice build up in the wine cooler: Today we explain why it happens and what you can do about it!

As predicted, it’s not unusual to see water or ice on the internal walls of the wine cooler.

It is a normal physical process happens when the wine cooler is used or maintained incorrectly.

Causes of ice build up:

– the door opens too often,

– the air humidity in the room, where the wine cooler is installed, is too high,

– bottles are leaning against the walls or are obstructing the ventilation.

Some simple actions are enough to avoid unpleasant situations.

If you want to defrost, unplug the wine cooler for 24 hours and place a bowl at its backside to collect the water.

After that, you can turn on the wine cooler again.

OUR TIP for the summer: turn off the wine cooler once a month for 12 hours.
